Physical Therapy at AZCCPP
Physical therapy at AZCCPP
From Dr. Hibner himself, in regards to treating Pundendal Neuralgia, “What I tell patients is this. The number one thing for repetitive injury is to stop what you’re doing. The number two thing is to choose physical therapy over anything else. By far the majority of patients are helped by appropriate pelvic floor physical therapy.”
At AZCCPP, Physical Therapy or PT is an integral part of rehabilitation. Due to the complexity of chronic pelvic pain and other pelvic conditions effective treatment requires a multifaceted approach.
Here we combine your information, clinical expertise, Medical evaluation with Dr. Hibner, and Physical therapy evaluation with Tiffany to improve the quality and speed of diagnosis and treatment, providing a better overall picture to make the best individually tailored decisions for your care.
With Tiffany at AZCCPP, you can expect a thorough evaluation with a specially trained therapist to better understand your specific condition and progression of symptoms, and if in the office an internal and external examination to palpate specific muscle and nerve areas for improved specificity of diagnosis of your condition to provide most successful treatment.
If treatment is appropriate at the time, treatment may start with a variety of exercises or stretches to improve pelvic floor muscle coordination, along with lifestyle management tools to address bladder, bowel, and sexual function to better manage pain or other symptoms.
These educational tools can help empower you to reduce your pain. Further along in treatment focus evolves to improving strength and muscle balance to allow you to return to your desired activities.
As not all patients can attend PT in Arizona, we can also help via telemedicine or by connecting you with an appropriate provider in your area. Our goal is to improve your quality of life, however that may transpire.
If you’re experiencing symptoms of pudendal neuralgia, pelvic floor muscle pain, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, and all kinds of pelvic pain, don’t delay seeking medical attention.
